About

Graeme Boyd is an experienced Teacher-Librarian currently working for the International Baccalaureate as an online and face to face course facilitator offering the ‘Role of the Librarian’ Category 3 workshop (PYP, MYP, DP). He also works independently facilitating Librarian workshops for IBSCA (IB Schools and Colleges Association) and IBICUS (in collaboration with IBO in The Hague (IBAEM)). He is a Chartered member of CILIP (Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals UK), a member of SLA (School Library Association UK) and a provisional CIS (Council of International Schools) accreditation evaluator.

For the past 10 years Graeme has worked as a Teacher-Librarian at International schools in Kuwait, Lebanon, China, Brazil and Germany. He is currently the Middle and High School Librarian at Lincoln Community School in Accra, Ghana. He has worked within the informatics and data sector for the last 20 years, including in such diverse roles as Prison Librarian at HMP Wandsworth, Research Assistant at The Glasgow School of Art, Film Librarian at Greenpeace International, Information Researcher at BBC Television Centre, Head of Archive at Condé Nast and Business Researcher at Risk Capital Partners LLP.

Passionate about Educational Technology, Graeme is a Google Certified Educator Levels 1 + 2; Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Silver Expedition Leader and First Lego League and Seesaw Ambassador. Graeme has held voluntary positions at Pratham children’s charity (India), Escola Instituto da Criança (Brazil), Scottish Research Information Services, The Foundation for Responsible Robotics, and was previously a non-executive director of Not Shut Up (prison publication).

He has also acted as a consultant for ex-Channel 4 Chairman Luke Johnson on the Independent Library Report for England (2014) and Espresso Book Machine (via Borders UK) and outwith term-time works as a business analyst for Risk Capital Partners LLP, a small private equity firm based in London specialising in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Graeme is a highly dynamic and passionate Information Professional.
